Abstract

Statue of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first Shogun of Japan, who united Japan after the battle of Sekigahara in 1600, thereby establising the Tokugawa Shogunate which remained in control of Japan from 1600-1868. Tokugawa Ieyasu ruled most of Japan from 1600 until his death in 1616. This image shows the statue of Ieyasu in the inner Toshogu Shrine, Nikko
