Abstract

Melaleuca (paperbark) forest, Koolau range, Oahu. Melaleuca and Eucalyptus species were introduced to Hawaii in 1865 as windbreaks and for eucalyptus oil production. They have become an invasive species in many parts of the Hawaiian islands.
