Abstract
From 1866 Kalaupapa Peninsula, at the base of the high sea cliffs on the north coast of Molokai, was the site of total isolation for victims of Hansen's Disease (leprosy) and has been a national park since 1980. This image shows the small settlement and hospital where a small community of residents still chooses to live.
