Abstract

Silversword plants (ahinahina - Argyroxiphium sandwicense ssp.sandwicense) dotting the landscape towards the wetter eastern side of Haleakala crater, Maui. This species is endemic to the high alpine zones of the Hawaiian volcanoes, Haleakala on Maui, and Mauna Loa and Mauna kea on the island of Hawaii.
