Abstract

The two largest and highest volcanic mountains on the island of Hawaii are always snow-capped in winter. This image shows Mauna Loa (lit. Long Mountain) volcano (13,679ft) taken from the summit of Mauna Kea volcano (4250m; 3,796ft) (lit. White Mountain).
