Abstract

View from Bowen Terrace towards Petrie Bight.

On the right are James Barkers Wharves and we are standing above his quarry on Bowen Terrace whose stone went to all parts of the world as ballast for the many ships who unloaded their goods into his warehouses just out of sight to the right. As well as ballast you can see his polished stone in the columns of Blackall's monument in Toowong Cemetery along with Jeay's sandstone. That is Andrew Petrie's building with the chimney stack and the white building is a closed in swimming baths. The Windmill on Wickham Tce in Spring Hill and All Saints Anglican church is at the lower end of Wickham Tce
