Abstract

A stone drinking fountain erected in 1880, popularly known as the Mooney Memorial Fountain, stands on the triangular space at the junction of the two streets. The Mutual Assurance Society of Victoria building, erected in 1882, stands behind the fountain. The fountain was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992 (Wikipedia)
