Abstract

Cabbage Tree Creek, Shorncliffe, previously known as Sandgate, is a north-east coastal suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. A recreational area where Brisbane residents were known to escape to for seaside holidays including swimming, fishing and sailing. It is part of the Blue Water festival and the Brisbane to Gladstone yacht race which begins from the Cabbage Tree Creek opening. (Wikipedia) First marked on a map compiled by Henry Wade and explored in 1844
