Abstract

Jack Bain worked for the Bank of Australasia and worked in many branches over his career from the 1920s to his retirement in 1966.

This photograph is looking out from Denmark Hill. The bridge over the Bremer River is on the RHS of the image. The Church prominently located in the centre of the image is St Mary’s Catholic Church.

Ipswich is an urban region in South East Queensland, Australia. Situated on the Bremer River, it is approximately 40 kilometres (25 mi) west of the Brisbane central business district. A local government area, the City of Ipswich has a population of 232,000 (projected to grow to 435,000 residents by 2031). The city is renowned for its architectural, natural and cultural heritage.
