Abstract

Jack and Isabel Bain from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia did a round the world post retirement trip in 1966. This photograph shows a signpost to destinations around the world in Waitangi, New Zealand in October 1966.

Waitangi (/waɪˈtæŋi/[1] or /ˈwaɪtəŋi/, Māori: [ˈwaitaŋi]) is a locality in the Bay of Islands on the North Island of New Zealand. It is close to the town of Paihia (of which it is considered a part), 60 kilometres north of Whangarei. "Waitangi" is a Māori-language name meaning "weeping waters". (Wikipedia)
