KELVIN GROVE TEACHERS COLLEGE - "JUBILEE MAGAZINE"
LYLE MUNRO, Editor.
1914 -1964 - 2014 A building in a Technical College, a vacated Fire Brigade, a condemned Trades Hall, part of an Intermediate School-hardly an inspiring commencement for Teachers' Colleges m Queensland ! More recent years have brought a second college in a building specifically designed for it, a remodelling and extension of the older college, and major groundworks for the establishment of a third. The amazing feature is that despite all the difficulties caused by the poor conditions existing until a decade ago so many excellent teachers, inspectors and administr.ators were produced. What of the years to come? It is obvious that teacher training is about to undergo a period of rapid progress in Australia. Current discussions centre on lengths of courses, their content, specialization and graduate status. There will no doubt be major developments in each of these in the next few years. Who knows what the centenary of 2014 will reveal Thanks to the vision of the present administration these are all possible. Meliora petamus ! But our seeking will require conscious endeavours by every teacher to achieve the better things ! KELVIN" GROVE TEACHERS· COLLEGE" - "JUBILEE MAGAZINE" J. C. GREENHALGH, Principal
