Abstract

Lagoon Beach is situated in a partially enclosed and sheltered lagoon with a coral reef on the western coastline of Lord Howe Island. Among the eleven beaches on the island, Lagoon Beach is the most accessible and boasts white sandy beaches and calm blue waters. Visitors can indulge in various water activities such as sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, kite surfing, or take leisurely boat trips along the coast. For those seeking to explore the lagoon's famed coral reef, there are several affordable glass-bottom kayak and boat tours available. The beach also attracts nature enthusiasts and eco-tourists who come to admire and capture the lagoon's distinct stratified calcarenite formations. Swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving are other popular activities at Lagoon Beach.
