Abstract

Rainbow Gorge is on K'gari (Fraser Island), 15km off the coast of Hervey Bay and about 300km north of Brisbane. Rainbow Gorge, weathered by nature and coloured by earthy mineral compounds, the red, yellow, orange and brown sands create striking patterns on the walls of the gorge.
